In a move aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in infrastructure development, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday unveiled a new Project Monitoring Dashboard for the State Works Department.
Speaking at the launch event held at Lok Seva Bhawan, the Chief Minister highlighted the dashboard’s capacity for real-time tracking of public infrastructure projects, which he said would ensure timely execution and minimise errors.
“This initiative will significantly improve efficiency in project execution and streamline monitoring,” said Majhi, adding that the system is a step forward in the State’s commitment to good governance.
The dashboard is equipped with a host of advanced features, including a live issue tracker to address bottlenecks such as land acquisition, forest clearance, and encroachment. It also includes tools for live project tracking, expenditure monitoring, and real-time alerts to support more informed decision-making by officials.
A notable component of the system is its GIS-enabled interface, which allows users to visualise infrastructure projects in real time using satellite and road maps. Stakeholders can access detailed project data at the district and block levels, making it easier to locate and monitor specific sites.
Looking ahead, Majhi announced plans to expand the use of the dashboard across other government departments to further boost infrastructure development and drive Odisha’s progress.
“This technology-driven approach will bring a new level of accountability and effectiveness to our governance model,” the CM expressed.
