Rapid growth not possible through exports of raw materials; India changing eco-system, says PM Modi in Bhubaneswar

There are two pillars for the expansion of the Indian economy- innovating the service sector and quality products. The rapid growth of the country is not possible only through the export of raw materials. Hence, we are changing the entire eco-system and working with a new vision in India, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025 in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

“The trend which was being followed is being changed now in India. Our government is working to ensure that a similar industry comes up in Odisha for which there are resources. The conclave is a medium for it. Today, the world is talking about sustainable lifestyles and moving towards a green future. The scope for green jobs is increasing. Hence, we have to change ourselves with the emerging trends. India is focusing on green future and green tech,” said PM Modi.

Be it solar, wind, or green hydrogen, these are going to power the energy security for Viksit Bharat, said PM Modi.

According to PM Modi, there is a lot of scope in Odisha. We have initiated the green hydrogen mission and solar power mission. In Odisha also, major policy decisions have been made to promote industries associated with renewable energy. Along with green energy, a lot of initiatives are being taken for the expansion of petro and petrochemical sectors in Odisha. In Paradip and Gopalpur, dedicated industrial parks and investment regions are being set up. There is a lot of scope for these sectors as well. The state government is deciding fast to identify potation in different regions and creating new eco-system, he said.

Odisha To Be Among Top States As Far As Blue Economy Is Concerned

“The century is of connected infrastructure, multi-model connectivity and the scale and speed with specialised infrastructure is being created in India, it will make India a special destination.  The east and west coasts are being connected with the dedicated freight corridor. Today, dozens of industrial cities are being created with plug-and-play facilities. In Odisha also such possibilities are being created. Railway and highway network projects worth thousands of crores are being underway in the state. Similarly, the government is connecting ports with industrial clusters so that the logistic cost comes down. Apart from the development of old ports, efforts are being taken for the creation of new ports in Odisha. It means that Odisha is going to get included in the top states list as far as Blue Economy is concerned,” said PM Modi.
