Fire breaks out at MRF unit in Sundargarh
A fire broke out in the waste material storage section of an MRF unit situated behind the Sarvesh factory at Kuarmunda locality in Sundargarh district, on Sunday.
According to sources, local residents first noticed the inferno due to plumes of smoke and immediately alerted the fire services department.
Both police and fire services personnel arrived at the spot. They have been reportedly working hard to bring the fire under control. The situation is being closely monitored to prevent any further escalation.
As of now, no injuries have been reported and the cause of the blaze has not been ascertained yet.
The operation was underway till the time when this report was filed.

No comments from the MRF authorities have been received so far.
In an earlier incident in December, a massive fire broke out at a pressure cooker godown at Satyanagar in Bhubaneswar.
On being informed, two fire services teams reached the spot and the firefighters launched an operation to douse the flames. Later, a robot called Fire-Fighting Robotic Monitor was also pressed into service and the fire was brought under control.
