Coach of Hirakhand Express gets detached
The Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express was halted midway after departing from Jagdalpur due to a technical issue on Sunday. As per reports, the train came to a standstill near Amagura as one of the coaches became detached from the rest of the train.
Luckily, all passengers are reported to be safe. Repair work is currently underway, and passengers are waiting for the issue to be resolved. After coach separation near Amagura, repair teams and railway staff are working on-site to either reattach or replace the missing coach segment.
Safety protocols have been activated, with track inspections and alternative travel arrangements being assessed. Railway officials are reportedly on-site to ensure safety and expedite the restoration process.

This train is part of the East Coast Railway zone, using LHB rakes, and typically covers a distance of around 785–787 km with 24–39 stops depending on direction.
The Jagdalpur - Bhubaneswar service (Train No. 18448) usually departs at 16:30 hrs and arrives around 08:20 hrs the following morning, completing the journey in nearly 15 h 50 m
The Hirakhand Express has been in traffic since 1988 and serves the states of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh, symbolically named after the historical Hirakhand region. The train has previously faced major setbacks, notably the Kuneru derailment in January 2017, which resulted in 41 deaths and 68 injuries.
