Children branded with hot iron rods for opposing mother's extramarital affairs in Bhubaneswar
In a shocking incident, two children were branded with hot metal rods for three days for allegedly opposing the 'extramarital affairs' of their mother in Bhubaneswar.
The duo was allegedly branded with hot iron rods by the lover of their mother at Mahavir slum under Maitree Vihar Police Station in Bhubaneswar. Both the woman and her lover have reportedly been detained by police.
As per reports, the children were allegedly tortured brutally for opposing their mother’s unethical relationship with her lover in the absence of their father at home.
The alleged lover of the woman allegedly branded the children with hot metal rods on the pretext of their mother’s complaint that they were becoming wayward.
After receiving information about the incident, Maitree Vihar police reached the spot and rescued both the children.
The woman has been detained and she is being questioned over the matter, sources said.

Following overnight raids at several places, Maitree Vihar police also nabbed the accused identified as Gudu Nayak on Thursday night.
As per reports, accused Gudu has confessed to his crime during interrogation by the police.
It is alleged that Gudu and the woman had an unethical relationship for around seven months. However, the children of the woman used to oppose their relationship.
Subsequently, with the woman’s insistence, the accused allegedly kept both children in a closed room and branded them with hot metal rods for three days.
