The CCTV footage of the incident shows three youths wielding sticks arriving on a motorbike before stopping in front of a stray dog. Without any prompting, one of them began attacking the dog with a stick. As the animal tried to flee, several other youths emerged and delivered severe blows to the dog, leaving it reportedly unconscious.

Other youths, wielding what looked like machetes, fled in separate vehicles when locals intervened and rushed to the scene. Residents believe the miscreants may have planned a killing blow had it not been for their intervention.
“I do not understand why they attacked the animal. Perhaps they were planning a robbery or heist and didn’t want the dog to sound an alarm,” said a local shopkeeper. He added that fear has gripped the area as residents worry about possible attacks on individuals.
“This is brazen lawlessness. The men were brandishing weapons. What if they attack a senior citizen someday,” questioned the shopkeeper, who is now caring for the injured dog. The animal is reportedly unable to move.
