A pick-up van smuggling over 30 cattle crashed into an electric pole while trying to escape police in Odisha’s Bhadrak district. The vehicle, suspected of transporting cattle illegally, collided with a power pole in the Gujidarada area, during an attempt to evade capture, reports said.

Police Operation Targets Illegal Cattle Trade

The incident unfolded during a police operation led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (City DSP) aimed at curbing unlawful cattle transportation. The authorities acted on reports of illicit activities, launching a raid to intercept the suspect vehicle.

Dramatic Escape Attempt

One vehicle, in an effort to escape from the police dragnet, veered off course and collided with a pole situated within a nearby field. This collision not only incapacitated the vehicle but also led to the subsequent rescue of more than 30 cattle.

Arrests and Investigation

In the aftermath of the crash, three individuals were detained on suspicion of orchestrating the unlawful passage of cattle. Investigations are ongoing as authorities aim to dismantle this illicit network and secure the region from such operations.
