Hours after his abduction, the Commissionerate Police on Saturday rescued Sankarshan alias Pintu Sahoo who was allegedly abducted from near Khandagiri area in Bhubaneswar on Friday night. Pintu was rescued from Jajpur district.

Three persons, including Pintu's driver- Swagat alias Lucky, have been arrested in this connection.

Earlier, a complaint was filed at Khandagiri police station in connection with the abduction case. 

In her complaint, Pintu's wife alleged that the miscreants had demanded a ransom of Rs 10 for his release. Subsequently, she had paid around Rs 2 lakh to the kidnappers.

According to police, the driver Lucky had plotted his owners' abduction and demanded Rs 10 lakh ransom money.

“We studied the case in detail. We had suspicion over the driver, Lucky as he was the one who was with the victim at the time of his abduction," said Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police, Prateek Singh. 

Singh further informed that the accused driver confessed to having committed the offense to extort ransom from his employer.

Police rescued Pintu from a house in Jajpur and arrested driver Lucky's associates. 

Moreover, two other accused in the case are still absconding and further investigation is on to nab them.

Meanwhile, Police are investigating the possible complicity of Rosy, the wife of Pintu in the case. 

“I have no idea what was going on in the mind of my driver. I will explain you in detail later as I am under stress now,” said Pintu.
