Bullet-riddled body of OMDC employee found in Keonjhar

A bullet-riddled body of a staff working at Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited (OMDC) was found near Damuhating electric grid under Barbil police limits in Keonjhar district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Dushansan Barik.

According to sources, Barik did not return home after his office on Friday. Later his body was found near the electric grid while two empty bullet shells were recovered from the spot this morning. 

Barik’s bike was also found parked under a tree just 150 meters away from where his body was recovered, sources said adding that, Barik was shot on his head from a very close range.

Though the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be unknown, it is believed that a dispute over land might be the reason behind Barik's killing.

On being informed about the incident, Barbil police officials along with a forensic team rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
