Body found on railway tracks in Bhubaneswar; girlfriend killed him, alleges family
The railway cops on Thursday recovered the mutilated body of a youth from the Bhubaneswar Sarakantar-Bahadalpur railway crossing line. The deceased has been identified as Niranjan Sahu, 23, a resident of Raghunath Nagar in Dumduma.
While initial reports said that he might have died by suicide by jumping in front of a train, family members have brought serious allegations of murder against his rumoured girlfriend and her family.
According to sources, Niranjan lived in Raghunath Nagar with his mother and other family members. He was in a relationship with a girl. Over some reasons, his girlfriend with her mother allegedly barged into his house yesterday and threatened him with dire consequences.

Later this morning, his mutilated body was recovered from the railway track. While the reason of his death remains a mystery, one of his hands was severed after being hit by the speeding train, sources said.
Police seized the body and sent it for autopsy to Capital Hospital. A case has been registered in this connection while police are yet to ascertain the reason for the youth’s death.
“Whether it's a case of suicide or murder will be known only after a thorough investigation. Currently, a probe is underway,” a senior police official said.
