A couple of days after Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) decided to use only OMFED ghee for preparation of Mahaprasad and lighting lamps at Srimandir, members of Suara Mahasuara Nijog have sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention and urged him to take necessary measure to ensure the use of pure desi ghee in Mahaprasad preparation.

In a letter, the members of the  Suara Mahasuara Nijog have urged PM Modi to preserve the sanctity of Mahaprasad by allowing the use of pure desi cow ghee.

The servitors also urged the PM to take necessary steps to establish a gaushala at Lord Jagannath’s Amrutarohini plot for a steady supply of pure desi ghee to the temple.

“Establishing gaushala would not only preserve the sanctity of Mahaprasad but also promote the overall welfare and development of cows, in alignment with the ‘gau-raksha’ policies that are so dear to your heart. ….This initiative would not only support the temple’s ritual but also contribute to the larger cause of ‘Gau-seva’ and sustainable cow development,” the letter read.
