Ipsita Sahoo while being 'slapped' by fellow worker
An internal conflict erupted at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) headquarters in Bhubaneswar – Sankha Bhavan – during the party’s foundation day celebrations on Thursday. The disorder involved a physical scuffle between two women party workers, attracting significant attention.
Tensions arose when BJD youth wing leader Ipsita Sahoo was reportedly scolded by a fellow worker. The disagreement allegedly began over the arrangement of seats in the front row of the stage. Sources stated that Ipsita was adjusting chairs on the stage, prompting objections from some women party members, which escalated into a heated exchange.
Things took an ugly turn and the brawl peaked as the female worker from Puri district ‘slapped’ Ipsita Sahoo, further intensifying the situation. Neither Ipsita nor the involved party worker has commented on the incident at this time.
It is pertinent to mention that the Sankha Bhavan has been the scene of past disagreements, involving BJD members such as corporators. Recently, there was another altercation between senior leader Shreemayee Mishra and Begunia MLA of the party.
