Former BJD Minister has links with Hansita Abhilipsa, he violated laws for her: BJP MP

In a fresh angle to the real-life 'Bunty & Babli' Hansita Abhilipsa-Anil Mohanty fraud case, BJP MP from Bargarh, Pradeep Purohit has levied connections with BJD and alleged corruption and misappropriation with the help of a Minister from Kalahandi district.

Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Purohit claimed that a former Industries Minister from Kalahandi district, who served under the BJD government, has links with the 'con woman' accused of duping several high-profile persons across Odisha.

In his unnamed address, the BJP MP accused the BJD minister of breaking multiple rules and alleged that several laws were violated to award lucrative contracts to Abhilipsa, leading to alleged misappropriation of hundreds of crores.

Further, Pradeep Purohit continued his allegations with claims that two other MLAs were also involved in this corruption racket along with the minister. He also demanded a police investigation, stating that all those involved, regardless of their stature, should be brought under the purview of the inquiry and held accountable.

“Hundreds of crores were misappropriated as the Industries Department handed out several important contracts and facilitated deals to Hansita Abhilipsa and her aide. I would request the Mohan Majhi government to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the minister as well as the MLAs to justice,” he added.

Notably, Hansita Abhilipsa and her accomplice, Anil Mohanty, have been accused of duping several influential people out of crores of rupees by posing as the daughter and son-in-law of PM Modi’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra. Moreover, Police investigations have reportedly uncovered links to influential figures connected to this fraud.

Till the last reports, the BJD has yet to respond to these allegations.
