BJD MP Niranjan Bishi speaking to media
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has categorically denied signing the ‘no-confidence motion’ against Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. BJD MP Niranjan Bishi clarified on Sunday that no members of his party have endorsed the motion.
The BJD leader attributed the party’s decision to not having witnessed any unconstitutional or undemocratic actions by the Chairman.
Niranjan Bishi stated, “We have seen no reason to support a motion of no-confidence, as there have been no instances of misconduct.”
Bishi further added that the prospect of such a motion emerging in this session is unlikely, underlining their commitment to fulfilling their roles within the Opposition.
“We also get to hear that a ‘no-confidence motion’ is being moved against the Hon’ble Chairman. It is very unlikely to be tabled in this session. However, it may or may not be presented in the next session,” BJD MP Bishi expressed.
“Whatever decision our party supremo will take, we seven MPs will abide by that,” the BJD MP Bishi said.
Addressing circulating rumours regarding his purported political shift from the BJD to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bishi strongly refuted the claims, characterising them as baseless and speculative. “There is no truth to the rumours about my allegiance changing,” he asserted.
