After Mamata Mohanta, BJD MP Sujeet Kumar resigns from Rajya Sabha
Putting all speculations to rest, BJD MP Sujeet Kumar on Friday resigned from the membership of Rajya Sabha. It is for the second time that a BJD MP has resigned from Rajya Sabha. Earlier, Mamata Mohanta had resigned as MP and from primary membership of BJD.
Mamata was again re-elected to Rajya Sabha after joining the BJP.
In his resignation letter to Rajya Sabha Chairman, Sujeet Kumar wrote, "I do hereby tender my resignation from the membership of Rajya Sabha. I have taken this decision consciously."
Soon after he resigned from the Rajya Sabha, BJD issued an order and expelled Sujeet Kumar with immediate effect.
"Sujeet Kumar, MP, Rajya Sabha representing BJD is expelled from the party with immediate effect for anti-party activities. He has left down the party which sent him to Rajya Sabha and hopes and aspirations of people of Kalahandi," BJD's official order read.
