The Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police on Friday busted a bike lifting racket and arrested two masterminds of the gang. 

The arrested masterminds have been identified as Prashant Lenka of Dulanapur area in Cuttack’s Banki and Indrajit Singh of Bomikhal area in Bhubaneswar. The police have recovered 14 motorcycles in the last two days. 

According to the police, a man from Andhra Pradesh had lodged a complaint alleging his bike was stolen from the Capital Hospital premises. Registering a case, the police launched an investigation. During the investigation, the police zeroed in on Prashant Lenka and later arrested him for his involvement. The cops had then recovered a motorcycle from his possession.

During interrogation, Prashant revealed that he handed over the stolen motorcycles to one Indrajit Singh, a resident of Bomikhal area. Subsequently, Indrajit was arrested. 

Addressing a press conference, Police Commissioner, Soumendra Priyadarshi said, “Of the 14 recovered bikes, the owners of six have been identified. Their bikes will soon be handed over to them. Our efforts are on to nab the other associates of Prashant and recover more stolen bikes.”
