Berhampur police recover bag filled with bombs from under-construction building

Berhampur police recovered a bag filled with over 30 bombs from an under-construction building in Khajuria area, Ganjam district. Separately, unidentified assailants hurled bombs at a bamboo trader's residence in Cuttack, suspected due to business rivalry.

A bag filled with bombs was recovered from a room in an under-construction building in the Khajuria area of Berhampur in Ganjam district, with reports indicating that over 30 bombs were found at the site. 

During police patrols, several youths abandoned the bag and fled upon seeing the police personnel. Upon finding the activities of the youths suspicious, the police carefully inspected the bag discovering the bombs inside it and carefully recovered the bag.

Meanwhile, unidentified assailants reportedly hurled bombs at the residence of a bamboo trader in Cuttack due to suspected previous enmity. The incident occurred in Subhadrapur, under the jurisdiction of the Cuttack Sadar police station, late Friday night.

While the exact motive behind the bomb attack remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest that business rivalry may be a factor. The assailants managed to escape the scene before they could be apprehended. Fortunately, no casualties or significant damage have been reported.

Following the attack, a formal complaint was filed at the Cuttack Sadar police station, prompting an immediate investigation. The police are actively questioning locals to gather more information regarding the attack and identify the perpetrators. 

Additionally, authorities have collected CCTV footage from the area to help establish the identities of those responsible. Despite these efforts, the attackers' identities remain unknown.
