ASI to complete Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar repair work before Rath Yatra: SJTA Chief Administrator

The repair work of Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar is nearing completion. It is expected that these significant repairs will conclude ahead of the forthcoming Rath Yatra festival.

The Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Arabinda Padhee, has expressed optimism that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will finish the work before the upcoming Rath Yatra festival.

Progress on Restoration Works

Padhee recently conducted a review of the ongoing efforts. Cognisant of the public's keen interest, he provided updates via social media following discussions with the ASI's Puri division officer. 
According to Padhee, the conservation activities of the inner Ratna Bhandar are almost complete, though the renewal work on the floor structure remains.

Structural Enhancements

Similarly, substantial progress has been made in the repair work of outer Ratna Bhandar, with the majority of damaged stone sections replaced. The restoration also includes reinforcing numerous weakened stones on the Jagamohan platform, which is nearing completion.

Significantly, five new stainless steel beams have been installed within the inner Ratna Bhandar, which Padhee highlighted as a notable success in bolstering the treasury's structure.
