Hospital authority in Nayagarh refutes theft allegation of newborn
In a new twist to the allegation regarding the theft of a newborn boy from the Rajsunakhala community health centre under Ranapur block in Nayagarh district, the Superintendent of the hospital has refuted such a possibility.
According to the Superintendent of the hospital-Jagdish Kumar Chandra, the allegation is totally false and the concerned woman, who has brought the allegation, has not even got the OPD ticket. He further said that they will lodge an FIR against the woman for making the false allegation for which the reputation of the hospital has been damaged.
“As per the CCTV footage, she (the woman who brought the allegation) never entered the labour room of the hospital. She has neither got the OPD ticket nor consulted any doctor of the hospital. The allegation is completely false. We will lodge an FIR in connection with the allegation and request the police to carry out proper investigation,” said Chandra.
Meanwhile, Nayagarh SDPO Sudasrshan Gangoi said that the woman has not been delivered at the hospital which is evident from the CCTV footage.

“The woman has not entered the outdoor department. She has not also consulted with any nurse or doctor of the hospital. After checking the CCTV footage, the Superintendent said that the woman had not been delivered at the hospital. We are currently verifying the case,” said Gangoi.
Notably, a woman identified as Sudhismita Parida, wife of Bijay Kumar Parida from Godabhanga village, has lodged a complaint at the local police station alleging that her newborn baby had been stolen from the hospital.
