Newborn boy 'stolen' from Odisha hospital soon after delivery
A newborn boy was allegedly stolen from Rajsunakhala community health centre under Ranapur block in Nayagarh district on Saturday.
According to sources, one Bijay Kumar Parida of Godabhanga village had admitted her wife Sudhismita Parida to the hospital soon after she complained of labor pain.
Later, Sudhismita gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday morning. But surprisingly, the newborn went missing soon after the delivery, sources added.
Meanwhile, Bijay and his wife have lodged a complaint in this regard at the local police station.
"I delivered a baby boy. As many family members were not present, someone stole my son taking advantage of the situation. I want my baby back," said Sudhismita.

"We brought our daughter-in-law to the hospital at around 5 am for the delivery. But soon after the birth, her baby was stolen from the hospital premises. We could not locate the hospital staff who conducted the delivery," alleged mother-in-law of Sudhismita.
Acting on the complaint lodged by the couple, the police reached the spot and collected the CCTV footage to ascertain under what circumstances the baby was stolen.
However, no comments from the police could be obtained over the matter.

It is worthwhile to mention here that a couple from Chhattisgarh had alleged that their newly-born infant was stolen from VIMSAR, Burla on November 25.
