MLA Jaynarayan Mishra makes explosive statement
BJP MLA Jaynarayan Mishra made an explosive statement in the condolence meeting organised in memory of former Minister Samir Dey in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
According to Mishra, the party did not give proper respect to Dey that he deserved. Mishra also said that he has been sidelined in the BJP.
Drawing parallel of his life to Dey, Mishra said, “I have been driven away many times. I have been driven away from the ABVP and also the BJP. I have also been driven away from the schools and colleges many times. Now, I have been sidelined from the BJP. It is part and parcel of my life. Whatever happened in Samir Dey’s life has happened in my life as well.”

“Samir Dey was not given proper importance by the party. Some persons were deployed against him in Cuttack many times. Some persons were also deployed against me. It is a well-thought-out plan for the party. I suffered with the same as Samir Dey. However, he passed away and I am still alive,” he added.
In response to Mishra’s statements, Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal said, “He (Mishra) has said nothing and it was a condolence meeting. Nothing about it should be discussed. All the workers are given equal respect in BJP.”
Notably, senior BJP leader and former Minister Samir Dey passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack on Monday. He was 67.
Dey had represented Cuttack City thrice in a row- 1995, 2000, and 2004 in the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
