Air travelers irk over 'frequent cancellation’ of Rourkela-Bhubaneswar flights
Air travelers in Odisha have expressed their resentment over the alleged frequent cancellation of Alliance Air flights on Rourkela-Bhubaneswar route.
As per the allegations, air passengers are facing severe inconvenience because of the erratic flight services on the route. Even the development has raised questions on the future of air connectivity in Odisha.
Several passengers have alleged that the airlines are citing technical glitches and repair work for default in the flight operations. Some organisations have reportedly informed about the ordeal of the passengers due to the frequent cancellation of flights to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and sought necessary actions.
Moreover, they have also demanded to allow other airlines to operate in the route to ensure smooth running of flights and ensure convenience for the air travelers.

As per the latest information, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar flight services will be operational on Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The operation of flights has been cancelled on all other days of the week till December 15, 2024.
Flight services from Kolkata-Rourkela-Bhubaneswar-Rourkela-Kolkata were reportedly stopped due to technical glitch on October 9. Though the flight service resumed following repair work, it could not last long. The service was again halted on the route from October 13. The airlines have informed that the flight services will again be normalized by November 30, sources said.
No comments could be obtained from the airport authorities over the allegations.
