The Odisha government is reportedly mulling construction of a 34-storey IT tower in Satya Nagar, Bhubaneswar, marking a significant step in its efforts to establish the state capital as a leading technology hub in eastern India.
According to The Times of India, the tower in consideration, spanning six acres, is likely to feature three basements for parking, an observation deck, and a built-up area of 1.90 lakh square meters.
The facility is expected to accommodate 8,000 professionals and include modern amenities such as a reception, lobby, club, library, and dedicated office floors. The Odisha Bridge Construction Corporation (OBCC) has been entrusted with executing the project, with tenders already floated.
This development follows Odisha Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan’s recent announcement of a transformative Twin City mega IT hub spanning 1,000 hectares across Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The broader initiative aims to strengthen Odisha’s position as a competitive player in India’s digital economy, offering ‘Plug and Play’ ready-to-use facilities for tech firms. In Bhubaneswar alone, the hub will provide 10 lakh square meters of built-up space for startups, mid-sized firms, and multinational corporations.
Situated near Smart Janpath and Cuttack-Puri Road, the Satya Nagar IT tower is strategically located to cater to private sector demands for premium office spaces amid rising entrepreneurship.
