The Bangladeshi nationals were reportedly arrested while being on board the Dibrugarh-Chennai Express. They were  reportedly lacking the necessary visas or passports for lawful entry.

10 Bangladeshi nationals held at Bhubaneswar Railway Station

As many as 10 individuals from Bangladesh, including a juvenile, were apprehended at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station by the Special Task Force (STF) for illegal entry to Odisha on Sunday.

The Bangladeshi nationals were reportedly arrested while being on board the Dibrugarh-Chennai Express. They were  reportedly lacking the necessary visas or passports for lawful entry.

The arrested Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Md. Hasim (46), Sojib Khan (24), Allam Shaika (41), Md. Azeem (40), Dilara Sheikh (45), Md. Soha (36), Karima Begum (25), Monira Begum (30), Sahana Begum (45) and a juvenile of 14 year old.

Unauthorised Entry:

As per sources, acting on a secret information from confidential sources about unauthorised entry of 10 numbers of Bangladeshi nationals illegally to Odisha without any passport, visa or any valid travel document a team of officers of STF conducted raid at the Bhubaneswar Railway Station platform and apprehended the individuals including six male, threee female and a juvenile. 

On interrogation, they disclosed that they belong to Bangladesh and had crossed the border illegally through their agent near Dhubri border(Assam) and came to Bhubaneswar to reside here.

During search, seven mobile phones, some Bangladeshi currency note and Indian currency note were recovered and seized from their possession.

As Bangladeshi nationals have entered India without any passport, visa or any travel document to reside here at Bhubaneswar suppressing their real identity and hence, they are liable of the Foreigners Act 1946 and STF PS Case No.06/2025, of the Foreigners Act 1946 has been registered against them, informed police.

All the accused were reportedly arrested and forwarded to judicial custody. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway, police informed.
