Ollywood actress Prakruti Mishra on Tuesday moved the Orissa High Court alleging police apathy towards her in connection with the FIR she had lodged against actor Babushaan’s wife Trupti Satapathy.

Prakruti is really upset with Kharavel Nagar police who failed to take action against actor Babushaan Mohanty’s wife Trupti and his father-in-law Lalit Satpathy who attacked her.

Addressing media, Prakruti said, “Whatever was done to me be it justice or injustice, Odisha has seen it. I have extreme faith on court and its judicial system that I will get my share of justice.”

Prakruti’s lawyer said, “Prakruti was assaulted publicly by actor Babushaan Mohanty’s wife Trupti and his father-in-law Lalit Satpathy on July 23. Even after so many days of attack, police have failed to take action against the accused. She is yet to get justice. Police have not imposed mandatory Sections under Indian Penal Code like 354 (D) and 346 on the accused who manhandled her in public view.  We have urged the court to instruct an independent agency to investigate the case.”

Home Secretary and Inspector-in-Charge of Kharavel Nagar Police Station have been made party in the petition.

Notably, the videos of Babushaan’s wife Trupti Satpathy manhandling her husband and Prakruti Mishra on a busy Bhubaneswar street went viral on various social media platforms in July end.

In the viral video, Prakruti, who is set to make her Bollywood debut, was heard crying for help from people present there. As no help came her way, she was seen running away from the spot to save her life.

It is being alleged that Babushaan's wife Trupti along with some goons stopped the duo while they were on their way to the Bhubaneswar Airport to catch a Chennai-bound flight for their film promotion.

Kharvel Nagar Police had registered a case under Sections 341, 294, 323, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code on basis of a complaint filed by Prakruti Mishra’s mother Krushnapriya Mishra.

On the other hand, Trupti accused the actress of creating disturbances in their marital life and lodged a complaint at the same police station.  Trupti’s mother-in-law Aparajita Mohanty accompanied her when she went to the police station to lodge the complaint.
