The family members of the girl, a student of Plus II second year at the college, suspected the incident to be a murder, police told that post-mortem reports will ascertain the exact cause of the death of the girl.

As per reports, two inmates of the hostel saw the body of the deceased girl hanging from the ceiling of the room and informed the hostel authorities.

Director of Yuvodaya College of Advanced Technology, Ambarish Dash informed, “Two girl students, who had come to the hostel during the snacks break first saw her body hanging and informed the warden. Later, we informed the police and the family members of the girl.”

Meanwhile, the brother of the deceased girl alleged, “We doubt this is a murder as why one will cut her nerves and then seal the wound with black cello tape and then hang herself. She has cuts on her fingers.”

“We have registered a case in connection with the incident. The dead body was recovered in the presence of a magistrate and the family members of the deceased and was later sent for post-mortem.
