As part of its mission to provide uninterrupted and high-speed free internet services to the denizens of the Smart City Bhubaneswar, the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) has made 1350 internet access points operational in the State Capital.
The Smart City will have 518 hotspots with 1800 access points under the “BhubaneswarMe Wi-Fi’’ project which was launched in 2018, said BSCL official, adding that, the remaining access points will go live soon.
Earlier, the free Wi-Fi service was limited to railways stations only. But with around 1400 access points going live, the people mainly from the backward classes and the meritorious students in the city will take advantage of the service, the official added.
A user can use 50 MB high-speed free internet daily under the initiative. Besides, a 24X7 user service support will be available for the users to address their problems.
How to use the service
- Users have to download Bhubaneswar Me Application from Google Play or iOS stores and log in using their mobile phone.
- After registering with the mobile phone, the user will get an OTP.
- After providing the OTP, the user can use free internet service.
