At this challenging time when governments, experts and people alike across the country are counting days for an impending third wave of the pandemic, a BJD MP, several party MLAs and hundreds of workers belonging to the ruling dispensation in Odisha threw the government-imposed Covid19 guidelines to the wind at an event in Udala, Mayurbhanj to commemorate the World Tribal Day.

However, MP Mamata and Krushi Nigam President Debashis rubbished the allegations and said that no one had violated COVID protocols during the event.

While briefing media Mamata said, "No one violated the COVID guidelines. All had put on masks and maintained social distancing. We organised the event by following the COVID protocols," she claimed.

Meanwhile, Debashis said, "The Karanjia MLA, Merda MLA and the Rajya Sabha MP (Mamata) were on the stage along with former Deputy Speaker and others."

When asked about violating COVID guidelines, the Krushi Nigam President dodged the direct question and left the briefing in a huff with a chuckle.
