There were apprehensions and the inevitable has happened. Days after Odisha’s schools and hostels reopened for physical classes, a Class 10 student of Daringbadi Girls High School in Kandhamal district tested positive for Covid-19.
Following the detection, the school hostel was declared a containment zone. This information was shared by Kandhamal District Welfare Officer (DWO), Simanchal Behera on Tuesday (August 10). As per sources, a special isolation room has been set up for the infected girl while the entire girls’ hostel has been declared a prohibitory area for 10 days.
The girl was reportedly found positive during a Covid-19 testing drive conducted by Health Department officials. The drive was organized for all inmates of the girls hostel, who were set to attend classes at the school. The infected girl is currently in isolation.
