In an unusual turn of events, a Chinese man opened his own matchmaking business after being fed up with not being able to find love. Despite going on 20 blind dates, he failed to get love. Frustrated, he decided to start his own matchmaking business and ended up becoming a matchmaker.
Till now he has helped 346 couples to match, a South China Morning Post said.
Zhou Shipeng, a 34-year-old resident of Hebei province in northern China, was being pressured by his parents for marriage. Unable to resist his find his love. So, he was struck with an idea to become a matchmaker himself. He has now established himself as a successful matchmaker who has helped other couples find love in the last seven years.
In 2017, Zhou visited local matchmaking areas and found that the majority of grandparents and parents of girls and boys were seeking partners for loved ones. The more he visited places, he realised that he could offer help as a middleman.
He collected data on the prospective groom’s profession, height, and other essentials. He then matched the demands of the girl’s family. Soon, he helped his first couple to find love.
“The happiness I felt then was more than if I were getting married,” he was quoted as saying by The South China Morning Post.
This one successful attempt further motivated him to continue his matchmaking work as he was determined to help more couples find love. By April 2018, he was a full-time matchmaker.
