In a major relief for job aspirants, the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has announced extension of deadline for submission of online applications for the Combined Recruitment Examination-2021.

The Commission is going to fill up a total of 2841 District/Division cadre Group C posts of Statistical Field Surveyor, Assistant Revenue Inspector, Amin, Forest Guard and Excise Constable under different departments of the State government through the mega recruitment drive. 

As per a notification issued by the Commission, the last date for registration as well as submission of online applications for the posts has been extended.  With the revised dates, candidates now can make online registration for the posts till October 27 while the deadline for submission of application has been extended by 10 days till October 31.

"All other terms and conditions remain unaltered," the Commission stated in the notification. 

The extension of deadline came after many students reportedly faced difficulties while applying for the posts due to slow website. Several candidates took to Twitter to express their anguish and demanded the Commission to increase the timeline.   

According to the recruitment notification, a total of 529 posts of Statistical Field Surveyor, 576 Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI), 538 Amin, 806 Forest Guard and 392 Excise Constable will be filled up by the OSSSC through the recruitment drive.

The appointment to the posts shall be made initially on contractual basis on consolidated monthly remuneration and will be considered for regularisation as per the terms and conditions of the Odisha Group-C and Group-D Posts (Contractual Appointment) Rules, 2013.

While Statistical Field Surveyor and Amin will draw a monthly salary of Rs 8,750, ARI, Forest Guard and Excise Constable will get Rs 8880 per month.
The minimum qualification for the posts of Statistical Field Surveyor, Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) and Amin is Higher Secondary Education (10 +2) while the qualification for Forest Guard and Excise Constable is matriculation or equivalent.

The age limit for the post of Forest Guard is 18 to 32 years while for all other posts it is 21 to 32 years.

All eligible persons who have not registered themselves earlier for any previous recruitment of the Commission have to register for the post by clicking on the button, "Register" on the Home page of the Commission's website-www.osssc.gov.in. 

Those who have registered earlier and got the User ID have to login and re-register for this post by selecting the "Re-registration" option provided under the Applicant Menu. Then proceed to fill up and submit online application. 

Candidates will not have to pay any examination fee for applying for the posts. Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of Written Tests, Physical Standard Measurement Test and Physical Efficiency Test.
