The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has published a fresh advertisement for recruitment of 160 Odisha Education Service Officers in Group-B under the School and Mass Education Department. 

The link for registration/re-registration and payment of examination fee will be made available on the official website of the commission (http://opsc.gov.in) from November 12, 2021. The last date for submission of registered online applications is December 18, 2021.

Vacancy Position: 

Unreserved (UR)- 83 (28-women) 
SEBC- 15 (5- women)
Scheduled Caste (SC)- 26 (9- women) 
Scheduled Tribe (ST)- 36 (12- women) 
Grand Total 160 (54- women)

Salary:

Selected candidates will get salary in the scale of pay of Rs 44,900 in Level-10, Cell-01 of Pay Matrix of ORSP Rules, 2017 with usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time. 

The posts are temporary and likely to be made permanent.

Candidates must apply online through the concerned website of the OPSC hitp://opsc.gov.in. Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and summarily rejected.

Educational Qualification: 

A candidate must possess the following educational qualifications: 
(i) A candidate must be a Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Science or Commerce with Master's Degree in Education with basic knowledge in computer application; OR (ii) Master's Degree in Arts or Science or Commerce with Bachelor's Degree in Education with basic knowledge in computer application; OR (i) Integrated B.A. (Hons.), B.Ed. or B.Sc. (Hons.), B.Ed. from a Regional College of Education with Master's Degree in Arts/Science with basic knowledge in computer application. 

Age: 

Candidates must have attained 21 years of age and must not be above the age of 32 years as on the first day of January 2021. Relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), women and ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities as per government guidelines.

Examination Fee: 

A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs 500. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe of Odisha and Person with Disability (whose permanent disability is 40% and more) are exempted from payment of this fee. 

Method Of Selection: 

The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts shall be made on the basis of written examination and Viva Voce test. 
(a) The written examination will consist of three papers, one each on General English, General Knowledge and Education. Each paper will be of two hours duration. The candidates are required to answer the papers in English unless otherwise directed. 
A candidate who secures such minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the Commission, will be called to appear at the Viva Voce test for 150 marks. 

Place Of Examination: 

The written examination shall be held at Cuttack. It may also be held at Bhubaneswar/ Balasore/Berhampur/Sambalpur depending on the number of candidates from the respective zones. The candidates are to mention their choice of Examination Zone at appropriate place in the online application form.
