India on Sunday celebrated her 75th Independence Day. The Tricolour was unfurled and special events were organised across the country with Covid-19 restrictions in place. Like previous year, this year too public was barred from taking part in the celebrations.
Political leaders including President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on Independence Day.
Taking to Twitter, President Kovind wished the nation on 75th Independence Day.
“I congratulate all of you, on the eve of India’s 75th Independence Day. While celebrating this anniversary, I cannot stop my mind from imagining a powerful, prosperous and peaceful India of 2047 when we will celebrate 100 years of our independence,” President Kovind tweeted.
Similarly, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu greeted the nation on I-Day.
“My warm greetings on the joyous occasion of our #IndependenceDay.As we enter our 75th year of Independence, let us recall the countless, valiant sacrifices of our founding leaders who won our nation’s freedom & resolve to strive towards building the India of their dreams,” Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu tweeted.
“Wishing you all a very Happy 75th Independence Day. May this year of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' bring new energy and consciousness among the citizens of the country,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.
BJP national President JP Nadda wished the national and wrote, “I wish all citizens of the country on behalf of my party. I pray to the Almighty for the happiness of the society, that there be happiness everywhere in the country and the world, and India leaps forward towards development.”
“On the occasion of independent India’s 75th birthday, I wish everyone a happy Independence Day! As India enters its 75th year of freedom, let's take a pledge to strive harder for the nation to achieve new pinnacles and prosperity. #AmritMahotsav #IndependenceDayIndia2021,” BJP National Vice President Jay Panda tweeted.
“Happy Independence Day.. As we celebrate this day we must also protect our freedoms with the zeal and commitment shown by our forefathers who fought for them,” Senior Congress Leader Kapil Sibal tweeted.
"It was an honour to attend the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort today. As an athlete and a soldier, my heart is full of emotion when I see the national flag flying high. Jai Hind," Neeraj Chopra tweeted.
Ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar too greeted nation on Independence Day. Taking to Twitter he wrote,"भारत हमेशा सर आँखों पर! I have always worn the Flag of India flag on my helmet with pride and it always reminded me why I stepped on the field. Wish a very Happy 75th #IndependenceDay to all the Indians across the globe. Jai Hind!
