Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has introduced BSKY Smart Health Cards that will be distributed to around 96 lakh families in the state. The CM made this announcement while addressing the state-level Independence Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar. Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) will be implemented in a new way and is likely to benefit 3.5 crore population of state. The BSKY Smart Health Cards initiative is a first of its kind in the country. This initiative will assist people in availing health services in more than 200 hospital chains in the country. According to the initiative, each family can avail treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh per annum. This initiative will also provide women members a benefit up to Rs 10 lakh annually. This scheme will also benefit the beneficiaries of National and State Food Security Schemes, Antyodaya and Annapurna schemes.
