‘Where is this Amitabh Bachchan?'-Netizens ask as Big B's affectionate posts for Ash make comeback

The coldness in the relationship between the entire Bachchan family and Aishwarya Rai is quite evident from their public appearances and social media posts. But it was not so when, more than a decade ago, Ash became Bachchan bahu. She was welcomed with open arms, and both Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan seemed to be proud of her. They even appreciated her and supported Aishwarya Rai on different platforms, television programs, and in the media.

Those were the times when Amitabh Bachchan seemed too happy that Ash was his daughter-in-law and even once said that for him, “One daughter (Shweta) has left, and another one has come.” In those days, Big B openly condemned and criticised social media trollers and public opinions when they trolled Ash.

When rumour mills stated in 2010 that Aishwarya Rai was unable to conceive due to tuberculosis, Amitabh Bachchan was enraged and said “Aishwarya is not my daughter-in-law; she is my daughter, a woman in my home. If anyone speaks ill of her, I will fight for her till my last breath" in his blog.

But that seems to have changed a lot in these last couple of years. Despite people repeatedly trolling Aishwarya Rai for her weight, her fashion sense at Cannes 2024, and various other reasons, there has been not a single supportive tweet from the entire Bachchan family.
