Akshay Kumar is 'Thanos' of Maddock Supernatural Universe, return in Stree 3 CONFIRMED!
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is considered as the biggest movie franchise with the highest box office revenue. While the franchise has several superheroes, and several antagonists, the biggest villain of the cinematic universe is Thanos. Undeniably, Maddock Supernatural Universe (MSU) is India's biggest and most successful cinematic franchise. But, the recent revelations made by Dinesh Vijan will leave anyone surprised. Vijan recently revealed that Akshay Kumar is 'Thanos' of MSU.
Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-led Stree 2 emerged as a blockbuster movie in 2024 and set several new records. Apart from Varun Dhawan's cameo as Bhediya, Akshay Kumar had a brief role in the horror-comedy flick. And now, the filmmaker has confirmed that Akki is not done with the world of Stree and will be returning for the third instalment.
Earlier this week, Maddock Films announced an exciting lineup of movies under MSU streaming excitement among all. While Stree 3 is slated for a theatrical release on August 13, 2027, the topic of Stree 3 came into discussion during the trailer launch of Sky Force where Akki joked that the movie Mark's his 'dedh' collaboration with Vijan. Indirectly, he hinted at his return in Stree 3.
Well, now Vijan has confirmed Akki's return in Stree 3. He said, "Of course, he’s a part of the universe! He’s our Thanos (laughs)."
Notably, Akshay was introduced in Stree 2 while standing in a wheelchair with a blonde wig. He thinks of himself as Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. However, he played the role of Chandra Bhan's descendant, the revelling drunken, chauvinist patriarch of Chanderi who murdered Stree and her husband. Well, it would be definitely interesting to see Akki's character getting more intense and bigger.
