Madhubala is to date considered the most beautiful actress to grace the Indian screen. Decades after her death Bollywood continues to hail are as the most beautiful with even the younger generations getting mesmerised by her beauty. In the good old days when the actress was on the top, she had men falling at her feet, seeking her attention.

And it was the same for Shammi Kapoor who was a newbie in Bollywood when he was paired opposite Madhubala in his second Bollywood movie. The impact of meeting her for the first time was quite tremendous on young Shammi.

Shammi Kapoor forgot his lines when he saw Madhubala

The famous Bollywood actor during an interview recalled an incident that happened during the filming of his movie Rail Ka Dibba with Madhubala. He said, “Rail Ka Dibba picture thi. Usme Madhubala meri heroine thi. Naya naya hero bana tha. Main abhi 20 saal ka hi tha. Aur woh itni khubsoorat ladki. Unko dekha toh dialogue bhool gaya tha. Then she used to help me with my dialogue. Oh…”

The Kashmir Ki Kali fame actor who was last seen in Rockstar sharing the screen with his grandson Ranbir Kapoor also shared memories about his father, the great Prithviraj Kapoor. Shammiji said, “My father was a great personality.”

He recalled how his father was upset when Raj Kapoor used to drink and smoke behind his back and hide from him. One fine day Prithviraj Kapoor, the father of Raj, Shammi, and Shashi Kapoor said to Shammi that when he feels like drinking or smoking he would want his son to do it in front of him. And that is how he wanted his children to be closer to him, share with him everything, and not hide anything.
