Salman Khan is the eldest son of Salim Khan , one of the writers from the iconic duo – Salim Javed who rose to fame during the 70s. Naturally being the son of such a successful writer many believed that Salman Khan had an easy launch in Bollywood since most of the people from the fraternity knew him and his family quite well. But despite having the legendary Salim Khan as his father, getting a Bollywood debut was not easy for Salman Khan.

Rather he had to follow the harder way that most of the outsiders followed in those days like auditioning for different roles and modelling for leading commercials and advertisement campaigns. During one of his earlier interviews, Dabangg Khan revealed how he got his first commercial for the leading soft drink brand Campa Cola in those days.

Narrating the incident to Bollywood actor Tara Sharma during the throwback interview, the Tiger Zinda Hai actor said, “I used to swim. The reason I used to get admissions into colleges and schools is because I used to play almost every sport. And I used to swim a lot.”

“So one day I was swimming at the Sea Rock Club and I saw this lady – a really beautiful young lady walking past in a red saree. And to impress her I dived in the water. Being such an idiot I swam the whole length underwater. So when I came out on the other side she was not there” said Salman. Immediately the next day he got a call from a production house saying that they wanted him for a cold drink commercial that is for Campa Cola.

The Bajrangi Bhaijan actor continued, “I wondered how it came about. And then I went there to meet Kailash with my aunt and asked, ‘Who gave you my number.’ He said that the girl you were trying to impress is my girlfriend. She told me that this guy swims well and we are supposed to shoot in the Maldives. And they did want someone to swim under the water.”

The old commercial shows Salman Khan and Jackie Shroff’s wife Ayesha swimming under the water. These are the only two people among the models who could do laps under the water. And that is how Salman Khan faced the camera for the first time in his life. Even in the commercial, it is quite evident that the Bollywood superstar is one of the most handsome men of all.
