  • This Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan movie was the only hit film of Bhaijan in 2023.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s third installment from the Tiger franchise will come on Amazon Prime Video on January 7. The leading OTT platform shared the news recently triggering a frenzy of excitement among fans of the Bollywood superstars. For fans of the Tiger franchise as well as those who enjoy the sizzling chemistry between Salman and Katrina it will be a New Year treat as they can binge on Tiger 3 once it hits the OTT.

Underperformance of Tiger 3 has affected YRF’s important project

Tiger Zinda Hai was a big hit that did a huge business in domestic and international circuits. Naturally, the expectations were very high from the threequel. While it can be safely said that Tiger 3 is a hit, YRF and even trade analysts had expected it to match the success level of Pathaan and Jawan.

The movie failed to cross the 500 crore mark and wrapped up its theatrical presence with Rs 466 crore business worldwide. Even then it was the 5th highest-earning Bollywood movie of 2023 and 8th highest-grossing Indian film. YRF-head Aditya Chopra has taken the underperformance of Tiger 3 very seriously.

As a result, he postponed the schedule of his upcoming venture Tiger Vs Pathaan. Reportedly the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi director is rewriting the script because most of the critics have said that Tiger 3 lacked good content and it was only the stardom of Salman Khan that made it a hit.

Salman Khan needs a blockbuster

All three Khan have faced a bad patch in their careers in the last few years. While Shah Rukh Khan has now bounced back with Pathaan and Jawan, Aamir Khan took a sabbatical after the dismal performance of Laal Singh Chaddha. Salman’s last few movies have also not done well and Tiger 3 turning out a hit was just a consolation.

But to retain his stardom, Salman Khan will have to match the new levels of success set by Jawan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.
