The Kerala Story has now hit the theaters and the judiciary needs a pat on the back for withholding its decision despite repetitive pleas to ban the film. Generally, most movies in India are made with the intention to entertain and earn money. And directors usually tell a story of happiness and struggle while avoiding topics that can trigger debates, protests, and opposition.
The Kerala Story is a hard-hitting tale that is based on real incidents and makes a tremendous impact on those who believe in preserving human values, and see things with an open mind.
Here’s what the story is all about
It is about three girls who have come together from various regions of the state of Kerala and are Hindus. The focus is on Shalini who is brainwashed first into believing that no religion is better than Islam. She is trapped in a relationship with a Muslim boy and is ultimately abducted, converted to Islam, and forced to become a terrorist in the ISIS outfit.
Review of The Kerala Story
The main focus of the movie is to tell how Hindu and even Christian girls are brainwashed into believing that their religion is not good and that they should become Muslims. The film starts by stating that it is based on the true story of a young girl from Kerala.
Adah Sharma as Shalini plays the lead character and has given a mind-blowing performance. She has tried her best to give her dialogues with Malayali accent and succeeded to a large extent.
The other three girls played by Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani are new to the film industry but have tried to deliver their best.
It is a very sensitive topic and a very complex one and director Sudipto Sen and producer Vipul Shah must have been prepared for the strong opposition the movie received even before its release. However, they have not compromised when it comes to telling the story by mellowing some most horrifying incidents in The Kerala Story.
The scenes, dialogues, and situations are disturbing, and thought-provoking and leave a hangover when you walk out of the theater.

Even though a few social media users have slammed The Kerala Story as biased, most of the netizens have welcomed it and congratulated the director and producer duo for bringing such bold content alive on the big screen.
