  • Sonu Kakkar will grace the Indian Idol 12’s upcoming episode as special judge.
  • Abhijeet Bhattacharya recently slammed inclusion of commercially popular singers as judges and said that Manoj Muntashir and Anu Malik agreed to his opinion.
  • Inclusion of Sonu Kakkar as special judge on the show indicates that the makers do not agree with the opinion of the legendary singer.

Sonu Kakkar will be seen as the guest judge on Indian Idol 12’s upcoming episode while Rakhi Sawant will entice the audience with her dancing. Sonu is a popular singer known for singing “Babuji Jara Dheere Chalo” and many other Bollywood and remix songs. She has also given her voice for regional movies but still is not as popular as her younger sister Neha Kakkar who is the regular judge on the music reality show.

Interestingly, legendary singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya who recently appeared on Indian Idol 12 along with Udit Narayan as the special guest has made some comments a few days ago related to who should be appointed judge in such reality shows. He made these comments after the episode featuring him and Uditji aired on television.

In his statement, the famous singer of the ’90s said that those who promote themselves are not the real judges. He also made it clear that he is not a part of any such reality show because he does not want to share the stage with certain people. By this, he seems to be indirectly hinting at Neha Kakkar whose rise as a superstar singer has been mostly based on remixes of old classics.

While talking to a news portal, Abhijeet said, “I told them, I am not asking for work, I am asking for what is rightfully mine. People work under me. I am the employer. They call people who've sung four songs in their life. You make those people judges who haven't served the music. They are only commercial. They've given hit songs, but they haven't given music anything."

Abhijeet said that judges on Indian Idol 12 Anu Malik and Manoj Muntashir agreed to his opinion. He further added, “They said, 'Dada, we've made a big mistake'. I am the real judge, not those who promote themselves, their songs, their albums, themselves; not the contestants. They use contestants; they aren't judges.”

Now by inviting Sonu Kakkar as the special judge for this weekend’s episodes, the makers of the show have indirectly hinted that they do not agree with the views of Abhijeet and would continue with the singers who are commercially giving superhit songs.
