Basil Joseph, Ranveer Singh
Buzz around Shaktimaan has been circulating for more than a year now, with Ranveer Singh almost confirmed for the lead role. Although Mukesh Khanna has been consistently saying no to it, most media portals have reported that the Simmba actor is set to play Shaktimaan, the iconic Indian television superhero.
However, this buzz received a jolt when a few days ago news about Allu Arjun being approached for this particular role hit the web. The rumours said that the new Shaktimaan movie will be led by the Pushpa actor and directed by Basil Joseph who is known for directing a superhero movie in Malayalam.
Allu Arjun is not replacing Ranveer Singh as Shaktimaan
Now Basil Joseph has given a statement saying, “No one else is doing Shaktimaan. It is Ranveer Singh and no one else. Whoever is spreading rumours about his replacement has their agenda.” It indicates that the rumours about Allu Arjun doing Shatimaan are false and Ranveer Singh is confirmed to do the lead role in this movie based on the series that was a hot favourite among kids in the late 90s.
Apart from this project, Ranveer is currently busy working on Dhurandhar directed by Uri-fame Aditya Dhar and Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. Reports indicate that he has almost wrapped up shooting for Dhurandhar in which he is playing a RAW agent. For the last year or so Ranveer has been lying low and staying away from the limelight, especially after his few movies like Cirkus, Jayesbhai Jordaar, and 83 fared badly at the box office.

Although his last release Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was a big hit, most of the credit was clinched by Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh did not benefit much from this Karan Johar directorial.
