AA22xA6: Atlee unveils plans for his upcoming flick with Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone
Atlee Kumar's upcoming sci-fi actioner AA22xA6 (working title) with Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone has been generating significant hype with every update. According to earlier reports Bunny and Deepika will be seen as fierce warriors in the action-drama, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make it a visual spectacle with a global appeal. Well, recently, Atlee unveiled his plans for his yet-to-be-titled flick.
Filmmaker Atlee received an honorary doctorate from Satyabhama University in Chennai on Saturday evening. At the event, Atlee gave a speech on the stage to mark the occasion. Addressing the criticism of his films all being copied, he also spoke about AA22xA6.
Notably, Atlee has been time and again accused of copying posters, scenes and characters in his films. At the recent event, he addressed the criticism and said, "Generally, there’s a perception that the films I make are taken from here or there. But let me tell you about my life today and give an example you can connect with.”
He mentioned Vijay's character in 2019's Bigil, a gangster-turned-football coach, and said, "Raayappan in Bigil was inspired by Jeppiaar sir, the founder and chancellor of this university. Today, when I got the doctorate and they played music from Mersal (2017), I believe I earned this only through honesty, only through love. I promise today that I will make this country proud.”
Furthermore, talking about his upcoming flick, he said, "Kalanidhi Maran sir (of Sun Pictures) is producing this film. It’s one of the most expensive films to be made in our country. We will be using a lot of new technology to make it. I’m dreaming big, and the budget has yet to be locked. The producer will decide the release date.”
