In the past, several Bollywood actors have angered their fans and triggered controversy by endorsing gutka and pan masala companies, and alcohol brands. They get brutally trolled for their choices of endorsements and many of these celebrities have also landed in legal trouble. Actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh and a few others have triggered controversy. Even Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu was featured in a pan masala ad. Saif, Hrithik and a few other actors have endorsed alcohol brands as well.

While Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar like actors moved out of the ad campaigns after getting criticised, a few others continue to feature in such ads. However, Kannada Film Industry's Rocking Star Yash recently hogged the headline for turning down a multi-crore pan masala endorsement deal. Not just Yash, most of the prominent actors from South film industries including Siddharth, Jr NTR, Ram Charan and many others are not seen in endorsements of gutka, pan masala or alcohol. But, do you know why? Well, it is a legacy passed down to the actors of the current generation from senior actors.

Actor Siddharth, who is extremely excited about being a part of Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, recently revealed that he and his generation of actors have been deeply inspired by legends such as Haasan and Rajinikanth.

During an exclusive chat on News18 Showsha, Siddharth told how a stand taken by the legendary actors has been a lesson of sorts for everyone in the Tamil film industry. The Rang De Basanti actor was quoted as saying, “Rajini sir and Kamal sir took a decision years ago that they still stand by. They don’t go and endorse surrogate advertising for alcohol, smoking, paan masala and all that.”

Further, he added, "If they had done it, others would also have done it in the South. Nobody does it because they set a precedent. We’re very proud to have two such legends in our industry because they’re two people who showed us the way in many ways.”

Well, this is something inspirational as the legendary actors passed down the legacy of 'not endorsing alcohol, smoking and paan masala' to the next generation. And the actors have been carrying on the legacy proudly. However, actor Siddharth shared his opinion and thoughts regarding the matter.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan and Siddharth are collaborating for the first time in Hindustani 2. The sequel comes after 28 years in which Siddharth plays the role of a young vigilante trying to clean up corruption in the country. Siddharth seems to be quite excited as he states that 'getting the chance to work with Haasan felt like ‘divine intervention’ to him and added that it’s a result of his ‘past karma’.' On the other hand, Siddharth is reuniting with S Shankar 21 years after Boys, which marked the former’s debut.
