Overdoing Pushpa: Die-hard Allu Arjun fans worried amid rumours of a possible Pushpa 3

Allu Arjun fans are eagerly waiting for the sequel of Pushpa: The Rise to hit the theaters this year. Rather Pushpa: The Rule is one of the most anticipated movies of 2024. The leaked pictures of Bunny as Pushpa from the sequel have already taken the hype to a new level. However, now there are speculations running riot that say that Allu Arjun and Sukumar may think of extending the franchise with Pushpa 3.

Undoubtedly, the character of Pushpa has won the hearts of the masses. His swag, dance, and dialogue delivery have left a big impression on the minds of movie lovers. But a third movie from the same franchise? A few die-hard fans believe that it would be stretching the character too far. Does this mean that Allu Arjun is overdoing Pushpa?

Should Sukumar, Allu Arjun take cue from Rajamouli, Prashanth Neel?

Both Baahubali and KGF are very successful franchises. Both the movies from each of these franchises have been blockbusters with the sequels eclipsing the first ones in terms of both success and content. However, even then SS Rajamouli did not think of coming up with Baahubali 3. The scope has always been there as the story can evolve in many ways, but being the savvy director he is, Rajamouli decided to avoid coming up with a threequel.

Ditto with Prashanth Neel. Although KGF 3 is supposed to be in the pipeline, the Salaar director has not confirmed whether he will helm the threequel or not. Every content and character has a limit beyond which if it is stretched it starts losing luster and thus its cinematic appeal.

The biggest example of that is Dabangg 3. Salman Khan made Chulbul Pandey an iconic character. His mannerisms, rowdiness, swag, and style appealed to the audience. While the first movie was a big hit, its sequel was also well-received. However, Dabangg 3 could not achieve the same success and by the time the third installment came out, people were already bored with the same, repetitive antics of Chulbul Pandey.

With not much story to evolve, the same might happen with Pushpa 3 if Sukumar and Allu Arjun decide to come out with a third movie from this franchise. Already there are high expectations for the sequel and its success will most probably play an important role in deciding whether there will be Pushpa 3 or not.
