Sunny Deol made a roaring comeback with Gadar 2 in 2023. As speculated, the movie broke several records and emerged as a blockbuster. Following the success of Gadar 2, rumour mills were abuzz about Gadar 3 and Border 2.

While the reports delighted movie lovers, reports surfaced that makers have stepped ahead with their projects. It was claimed that Sunny Deol and Anil Sharma have signed the documents for Gadar 3 after finalizing the outline of the plot. Moreover, some reports suggested that the makers of Border 2 have already started working on the script with a real-life incident in mind.

However, Sunny Deol has something else to say. Recently, he opened up on the rumours about Gadar 3 and Border 2. And the revelations are certainly surprising.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the 66-year-old actor revealed that ever since Gadar was released reports have been abuzz about sequels and triquel of different movies.

He was quoted as saying, “It has been there ever since Gadar released, ‘yeh part 2 kar raha hoon, voh part 12 kar raha hoon’, arre kitni part 2 kar raha hoon! Har cheez ke rumours chale jaa rahe hain. I will announce it myself. People like to speculate.”

However, apart from rumours of Gadar 3 and Border 2, reports were abuzz about his next movie titled Lahore 1947. As per reports the movie is produced by Aamir Khan and talented director Rajkumar Santoshi will helm the movie.

Confirming the same, Sunny Deol said, "Gadar 2 has been successful so this film (Lahore 1947) is happening. We have been with this film for the past 15-17 years, but it wasn’t happening. Gadar has opened a lot of doors for all of us. Raj is very talented, he has got a lot of great subjects. People have seen him and me doing three films together, all different genres, and all masterpieces."

"People’s expectations are very high but I am not putting that in my mind. If I love the subject, I will do the character, rather than feeling insecure ki logon ko yeh achha nahi lagega, voh achha nahi lagega,” he concluded.

Notably, Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi have earlier worked in Ghayal (1990), Ghatak (1996), and Damini (1993).

Now that Sunny Deol himself has raised the curtains, the rumoured sequels and triquel probably might not be happening soon.
