Sunny Deol made a hammering comeback with Gadar 2 in 2023 and the movie went on to script new records. Gadar 2, also starring Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, had a monumental run at the box office with a lifetime collection of Rs 525.7 crore. Now, it seems director Anil Sharma is all set for Gadar 3.
As per the latest development, the first round of paperwork has been done between Zee Studios, Anil Sharma, and Sunny Deol.
Pinkvilla in its latest exclusive report quoted a source close to the development as saying, “Gadar 2 ended with a promise of Gadar 3 and that wasn’t an announcement made for the sake of grabbing eyeballs. Ever since the release of the film, Anil Sharma and his team of writers have been brainstorming ideas for the third part of Gadar and they have finally locked the basic idea for the threequel.”
Further, the source added that just like previous films of the franchise, the third part will also be set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pak conflict.
As per the source, developing the idea requires a lot of writing but the team is clear about where the story of Tara Singh, Sakina, and Jeete will start in the third part.
If the reports are anything to go by, Gadar 3 could take off by the end of 2025 if everything falls into place as per plans.
Of course, after tasting remarkable success at the box office with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, the makers won’t leave any stone unturned in Gadar 3 to make it bigger than previous parts of the franchise.
