Following the phenomenon, reports are abuzz about sequels to different movies starring Sunny Deol, including 1997’s blockbuster Border.

Yes, as per the latest reports, the phenomenal success of Gadar 2 has inspired renowned filmmaker JP Dutta and his daughter Nidhi Dutta to revive the craze of Border with its sequel after 26 years.

As reported by Pinkvilla, Duttas are ready with the story for Border 2 for the past few years. And, currently, the producers are in talks to bring a major studio to back the major project as everything seems to have fallen into place.

Pinkvilla quoted a source close to the development as saying, “Border is among the most historic blockbusters of Indian Cinema and is easily a film that warrants a part two. The team has been discussing the probability of making a Border sequel for the last 2 to 3 years and everything has now finally fallen into place as the team is all set to make an official announcement of Border 2 in a fortnight."

Furthermore, the source added, that the makers have identified an untold tale from the 1971 Indo-Pak war and are planning to adapt it for the big screen.

Border, JP Dutta's symbolic patriotic film, paved the way for new-age war flicks. This majestic epic war drama still remains fresh in the hearts and minds of cine lovers as well as patriots. Set during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 was an adaptation of real-life events. With a huge cast of Jackie Shroff, Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, and Puneet Issar, and several others in the supporting cast, the movie was made at a budget of Rs 10 crore.  At the time, the movie's total box office collection in India was Rs 39 crore while the worldwide collection was Rs 65 crore.

The movie went on to become an 'All time blockbuster' with an IMDb rating of 7.9/10. Apart from winning the hearts of movie lovers, it won 15 awards in different categories at different events.

It would be an injustice if the music track in the movie is ignored. Songs like 'Sandese Aate Hai', 'Toh Chalun', 'Mere Dushman, Mere Bhai', and 'Hamein Jab Se Mohabbat' still can be found on the playlist of music lovers. Even after 25 years, 'Sandese Aate Hai' is a must-track played at different patriotic events that were written by Javed Akhtar, composed by Anu Malik and sung by Roop Kumar Rathod and Sonu Nigam.

The latest reports of Border 2 have streamed excitement among movie lovers. While many have expressed their desire of seeing new-age actors like Vicky Kaushal with Sunny Deol, some others have pitched to repeat the actors in Border. Well, if the reports are anything to go by, certainly it would be overwhelming for cine lovers.
