The buzz around Ramayana and its star cast has been escalating ever since Nitesh Tiwari announced the movie. Now the latest buzz is that megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been approached for the role of King Dashratha. If this buzz is true and Big B does give his nod to this mega-flick then naturally the anticipation for Ramayana will escalate to a new level.

King Dashratha or Nemi (as was his original name) plays a major role in shaping the first part of Ramayana. It is his curse, love for Ram, and promises given to his third queen Kaikeyi that were instrumental in sending Ram to vanvas. Amitabh Bachchan with his towering personality and voice with rich baritone timbre will be just perfect in this role.

Already Yash and Sunny Deol have been confirmed for the roles of Ravan and Hanuman respectively. The production house is being very careful in choosing the actors for important roles in Ramayana since if things go wrong it can trigger a huge uproar similar to what happened with Prabhas and Om Raut’s Adipurush.

There have been reports that Vijay Sethupathi is playing the role of Vibhishana whereas former Miss Universe Lara Dutta will portray Kaikayi, the third queen and wife of King Dashratha. A few days ago reports were adrift that Rakul Preet Singh was approached by the makers to portray the role of Shurpankha but there has not been confirmation about the same from the actress.

Nitesh Tiwari who earlier directed hit movies like Dangal and Chhichhore is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that 100% efforts are directed towards making Ramayana based on the epic. That is why he has also hired professionals to train the actors so that the dialogue delivery and diction are proper and impressive enough to match the portrayal of legendary characters like Ram, Sita, Ravan, and Hanuman.
