Disha Salian, Sushant Singh Rajput
Disha Salian, the celebrity manager who formerly worked with Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput died almost 5 years ago on June 8, 2020. She fell from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad where Disha used to live. Reports indicated that Disha was enjoying a party with her friends in her flat when the sad incident occurred.
The death of Disha Salian was not much highlighted and was taken as a normal ADR case with police taking it as death because of a fall from height. However, when Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14 in his room in Mumbai, the media and the fans of Sush started connecting the two deaths as a part of the plan.
Irked by these unexpected theories and controversies, Disha Salian’s father at that time had blamed media for spreading false rumours about his daughter’s death and unrealistically connecting it with the death of SSR.
In a letter to the ACP Dilip Yadav he asked the police to take action against journalists and media people cooking up stories related to Disha’s death.
The case took a new twist a day ago when Satish Salian approached Bombay High Court urging a fresh investigation in the case of Disha Salian’s death citing that her death occurred mysteriously on June 8, 2020. Now that is a complete U-turn from the stand that Satish Salian had taken years ago.
According to PTI, Satish has also urged the court to register an FIR in the name of Aaditya Thackeray, the former minister in the Maharashtra Government and son of Uddhav Thackeray, and that the case should be transferred to CBI. The plea says that Disha Salian was brutally raped and then murdered and at that time the police hurriedly closed the case to cover the names of some influential people in the political circles.
It further adds, “The Mumbai police hastily closed the death as a case of suicide or accidental death without taking into account forensic evidence, circumstantial proof, and eyewitness testimonies.”
Disha’s father has said that initially he thought that the police report was genuine but now he has come to know certain things that suggest otherwise.
For one year after the death of SSR, fans kept on rallying for justice. From CBI to NCB and many other major agencies were involved in the probe but even after five years the verdict is yet to come.
With Disha Salian’s case now demanding a fresh investigation, there is a possibility that the dormant Sushant Singh Rajput case will also get revived as many believe there was a connection between these two deaths.
